Student needing preceptor

Hello, 

 

My name is Susan Sankey.  I am attending Spring Arbor University (SAU).  I am enrolled in the  Adult Gero Nurse Practitioner program.  I am required to fulfill 500 hours of clinical practice with a Nurse Practitioner, MD or DO.  I would like to be considered to work with you as a student nurse practitioner.  I have completed almost 125 hours in a primary care clinic.  The next semester begins August 5, 2019 ending January 26, 2020.  I currently attend clinical one day a week.  Beginning in February 2020 I will be working on the last 250 hours of clinical.  These can be divided between preceptors and specialties. 

 

The program requires patient interaction and experience with history, physical, interviewing, diagnosis, testing, procedures, treatment, and follow up care with patients from ages 13 throughout the life span.  

 

A contract is required between the medical practice, the preceptor, and Spring Arbor University.  I have documentation for my license, immunizations, liability insurance, and certifications.  The clinical hours are tracked in Typhon, an online student tracking system that the preceptor will be required to approve.  The evaluations are online and only the exit evaluation involves telephone or online contact with the school faculty.
