If you couldn't make our January monthly meeting you sure missed out!  We had a great time networking, catching up, and swearing in the newest Steering Committee members!  The meeting was held at Kent Black's BBQ in San Marcos.  Outgoing President Dawn Peterson shared a recap on her 2017 goals.  Outgoing Immediate Past President Sharon Wright swore in the newest officers and committee members at our annual Changing of the Guard ceremony.  Our new President Nathan Lesch shared his goals for 2018.  We also had the pleasure of having guest speaker, State Representative Jason Isaac, address the group.

He has been a friend to NPs in the Texas Capitol since 2011 and is now a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives. At our meeting Rep. Isaac shared the challenges the health care industry is facing, particularly in medically underserved areas like Hays County, and how NPs can fill in the gaps."Texans deserve access to quality care. Texas Nurse Practitioners have proven their quality, and it's time to let consumers take advantage of the safe, reliable, and readily available care that they can provide." -State Representative Jason Isaac.

If you didn't make it to this meeting, be sure to catch us at the next one February 14th in New Braunfels. Together we can do great things in 2018!
